The natural conditions of the zone make it the main production area of Yantai Cheery, watermelon and Laishan Peach. The rich Yellow sea brings sea cucumber, abalone, shrimp and so on. The large-scale breeding of pigs, chickens, and milch cow guarantees the ample supply of meat, eggs and milk. The abundant water supply makes the irrigated farmland exceed 80,000 mu and the forest cover 30% of the zone. In 1998, the zone was listed as National Agriculture Comprehensive Development Zone. The zone boasts a complete network of technical service and 65% of the agriculture success attributes to science and technology.
 
The fruit-growimg area of the zone totals more than 40,000 mu, among which cherry-growing area occupies 10,000 mu and watermelon-growing area occupies 14,000 mu. The annual output of fruits and vegetables exceeds 70,000 tons. Regarding to cherry, the brands of "Binku", "Hongdeng" and "Labin" have been improved, and the brands of "Jindou" and "Fulin" are well received at home and abroad. The annual output of sea products totals 30,000 tons, with the income hitting 30,000,000 yuan.
